Aptana studio 3 freezing on ubuntu 16.0412/30/2023 ![]() ![]() 1 year after that the final stable release will be published. They froze the testing release I think in the middle of 2014 and this usually means that approx. LOL As for Valve and Ubuntu - as far as I remember SteamOS was initially based on Ubuntu but then Valve moved to Debian (mostly due to some disputes with Canonical).Īs for the upgrade - I intend to do that pretty soon once Debian 8 comes out. No, Ubuntu releases are mostly based off of Debian TestingĪh, sorry, I meant testing. Początkowo opublikowane przez Linux Junior s2 Camila:Wait, so you're running Steam on Wheezy? No wonder you're having problems. I just saw online that there is the 1:14 in the Wheezy backport repos so I might give it a try.ĮDIT: Weird, says that backports contain the 1:14 yet when I try to install from there it tells me I have the most up-to-date package 1:12. The driver is from the fglrx-driver non-free with version 1:12-6+point-3. So far I'm thinking that it's either the video drivers (although DoTA 2 and TF2 are the only games I'm having problems with) or the Source engine itself, since both are using it. Sometimes I also have this "freeze ma system" problem in TF2 and TF2 in terms of requirements is incredibly tolerant towards the user's system. I have to admit that my system is nothing incredible when it comes to hardware (I have an Intel i3 for Heaven's sake) and it's like 6 years old maybe. I do recall that I had a similar issue some time ago when I was still using Ubuntu 12.04 LTS, but if I recall correctly it is based on Debiam 7 so it's not much of a difference. The system is up-to-date but since this is Debian 7 (as far as I remember Debian 8 is coming soon this year) things are not top notch in terms of actually up-to-date. ![]() I'm using a 64bit Debian Wheezy with kernel 3.2.0-4-amd64. As for my specs the only thing that I fear might be the problem for all this is the ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5650, which should be enough to run the game and in fact it actually does a pretty good job (I can set most of the settings on high and the game looks damn great). When I do a hard reset my system always needs to recover the journal, clean the orphaned nodes etc. What I meant was that I cannot do all that in such a short amount of time especially since Steam does some update or whatever verification every time I start it and if I'm unlucky there is a new DoTA update available without which I cannot play the game until it's downloaded and installed (otherwise: Client out of date message inside DoTA). Ubuntu 32bits), what video card drivers, what kernel, what memory, motherboad, HD, if you have other systems installed, etc. ![]() Początkowo opublikowane przez Linux Junior s2 Camila: due to the fact that I can't power off, power up, boot, load my environment, start Steam Then there's something VERY strange with your system. Clean everything, the socket of the VGA, memory, connectors of hard-drivers, make it shine again. I did this with everything that can be removable on the MOBO, including the master power cable. Took a vacuum cleaner and suck the dirt out of the socked. Took the memory out and clean it's contact points it with one of those rubbers used at school. It was probably a problem related to the memory.Īll I did was I opened my case, removed everything and cleaned everything to it's bones. Thank you for your help I've had this too and it wasn't a Kernel Panic for me. But when I try to start a party of Dota 2, I have a random kernel panic. I am convinced that the problem is caused by Dota 2, because when I play for a while in another game (Serious Sam 3), I have no crash. Sorry, i cant give you some information about the problem because I do not know where to get the error messages after a kernel panic. Początkowo opublikowane przez Shingo San:hi, I have reinstalled several times my ArchLinux to prevent kernel panics, but every time I want to play Dota 2, the system freezes and the keyboard LEDs blink until the computer restarts. ![]()
